Hypnotherapy

What is Hypnotherapy

Hypnotherapy is a form of psychotherapy which uses altered states of awareness (hypnosis) to achieve a therapeutic end result. It is a much-misunderstood form of therapy and there are many myths surrounding this highly valuable form of treatment.
Most of us have only seen the stage or television hypnotist who seems to be able to get people to do things against their will, it is as if he exerts some kind of control over them. In fact, this is not the case at all as we shall see.
It is important to remember that the stage hypnotist very carefully primes his "victims" before they are allowed on stage.

He is very selective and only chooses people who exhibit a strong desire to go up on stage and be hypnotised.

Don't forget that these people all are aware that stage hypnotism acts are usually outrageous and that they will be required to perform some unusual act or other.

How Does It Work

When we relax or if we begin to day dream, our brain patterns change. Hypnotherapy utilises these naturally occurring altered states of mind which happen to everyone throughout the day quite normally. In America these altered states are taken advantage of in the popular "Power Naps" which are taken by executives who claim that it helps them to be more creative and work more efficiently.
Your hypnotherapist will help you to enter deep states of relaxation which facilitate access to the subconscious mind so that therapeutic work may be performed at that level. In this altered state of mind all distractions are minimised, thus allowing you to focus upon the issues in hand.
Hypnotherapy can be used to help achieve many positive changes in behaviour, feelings and thoughts. It is important to remember that you are always in control and cannot be made to do things against your will.

Reiki

Reiki is the name given to a natural healing technique which evolved in Japan. It is used to release stress and to promote relaxation and well being.
The method of receiving a Reiki treatment from a practitioner is very simple. The recipient simply lies on a couch and relaxes, (if unable to lie down the treatment can be given in a sitting position), the main thing is for the recipient to be as comfortable as possible.
There is no need to remove clothing as Reiki will pass through anything. The Practitioner gently places their hands non-intrusively in a sequence of positions which cover the whole body.
A full treatment lasts 1 - 1 ½ hours.

Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT)

Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) is used to control an emotional or physical problem. The flexibility of the technique can be used on minor problems such as wishing to eat less sweet things to more major phobias such as fear of the dentist or a constant recall memory of a personal incident which is ruining or disabling you moving on with your life.
EFT can be used on most things, so why not try it!

Stress Management

Stress Management Techniques are a set of techniques given to a person to help them cope more effectively with difficult situations which may be causing emotional or physical problems. Learn how to successfully manage stress by changing the way you respond to stress, making time for relaxation and learning healthier coping strategies.

Counselling

Counselling takes place when a Counsellor sees a client in a private and confidential setting to explore a difficulty the client may be having, distress they may be experiencing or perhaps their dissatisfaction with life, or loss of a sense of direction and purpose. It is always at the request of the client as no one can properly be ‘sent’ for Counselling.
In the Counselling sessions the client can explore various aspects of their life and emotions, talking about them freely and openly in a way that is rarely possible with friends or family, and sometimes in a way the client may not have considered or felt possible before.
All sessions are strictly confidential.
